June 10, 2022: Are there miracles? Do I Believe

As I was reading through some earlier blogs I came across one that a few of you read. I have a strong impression to repeat a lot of what I wrote earlier and add to and take away parts of it. I hope that it will bring peace and hope into your lives

"My dear Family and Friends. How time seems to fly by so fast. I do hope and pray that my meek efforts to write a little and include inspirational talks, and music from others help you feel the spirit and provide enlightenment and light to your soul.

Today I was sent a video link on Facebook Watch I want to share with each of you below. It is the testimony of my cousin whom I haven't seen for many many years.

His story reminds me so much of the many stories my father would share with us. He too was an Airline Captain and had many many experiences that only prayers and miracles saved him and all his passengers. He was always concerned about the safety of his passengers. Many a time he would come home and express gratitude to his Heavenly Father for allowing him to finish his flight safely when he shouldn't have been able to.

I'm sure my family could relate with correctness his stories, I would not want to try to because I'm sure I would get the facts and details all mixed up.

But I invite you to listen to a couple of songs dealing with belief and miracles.

The Miracle

When you believe

The following is my cousin's story that he is sharing. I'm so grateful he shared this. Even more, I'm so grateful to find he is strong and active in the gospel. Haven't had contact with him for probably close to 30-40 years.

Now I invite you to watch a 3-minute excerpt from a talk by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

The miracle of hope. Jeffrey R. Holland

With belief or "Faith" miracles can and do happen in abundance. Years ago while serving in a leadership position in my ward. I was impressed to encourage the members to literally start praying for miracles!. Not just a causal asking but actually praying and expecting miracles to happen.

I received reports back over the next weeks and even months from individuals. That they had experienced many miraculous events or occasions. Some very magnificent and life-changing, many simple we would think of just ordinary happenstance, but the spirit testified to them they were actual miracles

I now invite you to read from Mosiah 3:5-8. Which tells us of the greatest of all Miracles. The Lord Jesus Christ.

5 For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the aLord omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases.

6 And he shall cast out devils, or the evil spirits which dwell in the hearts of the children of men.

7 And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people.

8 And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the son of God, the father of heaven and earth, the creator of all things from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary.

Mosiah 3:5-8

Truly I do stand amazed that the Lord was willing to suffer all he did. My part of what he suffered is too much to even contemplate. He suffered so much just because of my rebellion and sins. I feel so ashamed that I have let the natural man control my life so much.

I always plead for his forgiveness. How blessed we are that he loves us so much he will go to the Father and say of course my words not his exact words." I paid for their sins, please Father, forgive them and accept back your errant son or daughter".

He paid the price for each of us. Our Heavenly parents and Jesus Christ love us with such pure love. They do not judge as we do. And we judge so much more than we ever should.

Accept our brothers and sisters on this earth for who they are. They may or may not be on the Covenant path. God knows how to speak the language of their heart and mind. And in His own due time and way, he will talk to them and invite them to the covenant path. Do not give up on any of them. Love them, pray for them and patiently wait for them.

They are as much God's children as we are. We need to love them as our Heavenly Parents and Jesus Christ as they do us

I invite you to bask in the spirit as you listen to this special and sacred song.

I stand all amazed

I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me Confused at the grace that, so fully, He proffers me I tremble to know that, for me, He was crucified That for me, a sinner, He suffered, He bled and died Oh, it is wonderful that He should care for me Enough to die for me

Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me I marvel that He would descend from His throne, divine To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine That He should extend His great love unto such as I Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify Oh, it is wonderful that He should care for me Enough to die for me

Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me I think of His hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt Such mercy, such love and devotion can I forget? No, no, I will praise and adore at the mercy seat Until at the glorified throne, I kneel at His feet Oh, it is wonderful that He should care for me Enough to die for me

Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me

The Miracle

I (we) testify that they do Live. They love each of you. The gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored. We all make mistakes. But, because of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we can repent and be forgiven. I testify, that no matter where you are spiritually in your life. They love you. They want to wrap their arms around you and welcome you home when the right time comes. I pray that the Holy Spirit will testify to each of you how special you are to them.

We love and pray for each of you.
